Ceramic Picture Ordering

Important — please read before you order

Every ceramic picture is made to order for one person. Once your photo, design and measurements have been submitted, the order cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded. You design it and approve it on screen before you pay — what you approve is exactly what gets made.

Manufacturing and shipping take up to 20–25 days. If you have an anniversary, birthday or holiday in mind, please order with time to spare.

These prices are for the ceramic picture only — they do not include installation. We do install, at the gravesite, throughout the counties we serve — see below.

A ceramic picture for a headstone — also called a porcelain portrait, a cameo portrait, or simply a grave marker photo — is a photograph fired into porcelain at high temperature. It mounts on the headstone and holds its colour through sun, rain and sprinklers for decades, which is why families choose it over anything printed or engraved.

Glory Roses supplies and installs ceramic memorial photos throughout Los Angeles and Southern California, in oval, rectangular, heart, round and square shapes, with or without a bronze-coloured frame. Choose the shape and size that fits your marker below, upload the photograph, and see it on the stone before you order.

Not sure which size you need? Send a photo of the marker and the measurements of the space where the picture will go to 818-639-3993 and we’ll tell you what fits. You can also use our free online headstone restoration quote form.

How ordering works

Everything is done on screen, before you pay. You see exactly what you are buying.

  1. Pick your shape and size above. That opens the customizer with your item already selected. If you are not sure what will fit, text a photo of the marker to 818-639-3993 and we will measure it with you first.
  2. Upload the photograph. It drops straight onto the shape you chose, on a granite background, so you can see how it will look on the marker. Drag it, resize it, rotate it until the crop is right.
  3. Add lettering if you want it. A name, dates, a short line — choose the font, size and colour. Many families leave the picture plain and keep the lettering on the stone.
  4. Check it, then approve it. Use Download this proof to look at it full size. Then tick the approval box and type your name and initials. What you approve is exactly what gets made — there is no second proof, and no changes or refunds after this point.
  5. Checkout, then production. Manufacturing and shipping take up to 20–25 days. We will let you know when it ships, and we can install it at the gravesite if you would like.

Measurements matter. Measure the recess or the space on the headstone where the picture will sit before you order — a ceramic photo cannot be resized once it is fired. If you are unsure, call or text 818-639-3993 before ordering and we will help you pick the right size.

Getting the best result

The finished picture can only be as good as the photograph you send. A few things that help:

  • Send the original photo or the highest-resolution copy you have — not a screenshot, and not a photo of a photo where it can be avoided.
  • If the only copy is a print, photograph it flat in daylight, without flash or glare.
  • Faces should be in focus. We can improve colour, brightness and background, and we can remove other people from a group photo — text us on 818-639-3993 before you order if you need that done — but we cannot invent detail that isn’t there.
  • If you add lettering in the customizer, check the spelling twice before you approve. That is the part that cannot be undone.

Installation is separate — and we do it

The prices above cover the ceramic picture only. Installation is not included.

Glory Roses also offers ceramic picture installation and replacement at the gravesite — whether the picture came from us or not. Ask for a quote when you order, or call or text 818-639-3993.

We install throughout the five counties we serve:

  • Los Angeles County
  • Orange County
  • Ventura County
  • Riverside County
  • San Bernardino County

See the full list of cemeteries we serve. Framed ovals mount with VHB adhesive and need no pins; bronze covers are screw mounted. If your marker has an old or broken picture that needs removing first, we handle that too.

Before you order, once more

No refunds and no cancellations once the photo, design and measurements are submitted. This is a custom piece made for one person and cannot be resold or remade.

Allow up to 20–25 days for manufacturing and shipping.

Installation is not included in these prices. Ask us for an installation quote when you order.

Common questions about ceramic headstone pictures

What is a ceramic picture on a headstone called?

It goes by several names: a ceramic picture, a porcelain portrait, a cameo portrait, a ceramic memorial photo, or simply a headstone photo. They all describe the same thing — a photograph fired into porcelain and mounted on the grave marker.

How long do ceramic headstone photos last?

A properly fired porcelain portrait is rated for decades outdoors. The image is fired into the glaze rather than printed on top, so it does not fade in sunlight, run in rain, or wash out under cemetery sprinklers. Most manufacturers quote 30 years or more.

How much does a ceramic photo for a headstone cost?

At Glory Roses, ceramic pictures run from $120 for a 2.36" x 3.15" oval up to $440 for a 9.45" x 11.81" oval. Ovals with bronze-coloured frames are $190 to $380, and an oval with a screw-mounted bronze cover is $400. Prices are for the picture only and do not include installation.

What size ceramic picture do I need?

Measure the recess or the blank space on the marker where the picture will sit, and choose the size that fits inside it. The most common sizes are the 3.15" x 3.94" and 4.33" x 5.91" ovals. If you are not sure, text a photo of the marker to 818-639-3993 and we will size it with you before you order.

What kind of photo works best?

The highest-resolution original you have, with the face well lit and reasonably large in the frame. A sharp print scanned at high resolution beats a phone photo of that print. Avoid heavy filters, and avoid photos that are already blurred or damaged — firing reproduces the original faithfully, flaws included.

Can you put a ceramic picture on an existing headstone?

Yes. Most ceramic pictures are added to markers that have been in place for years. Framed ovals mount with a VHB adhesive that bonds to granite or bronze without drilling; bronze covers are screw mounted. We install throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Can a ceramic headstone photo be replaced if it breaks?

Yes. Ceramic pictures can be removed and replaced — we do this often for pieces that were vandalised, cracked by a mower, or simply lost their adhesive over time. If you still have the original photograph, a replacement can be made to match.

Can I cancel or change my order?

No. Each piece is fired to order from the design you approve on screen, so it cannot be resold or reused. Once you tick the approval box and check out, the order cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded. Please review the proof carefully before approving. If a picture arrives broken or with a manufacturing fault, we replace it free — see our refund and cancellation policy.

How long does it take?

Manufacturing and shipping take up to 20–25 days from the moment you approve your design. If you have an anniversary, a birthday or a holiday in mind, please order with time to spare.
